Above, Lip biting. Seduction. Dripping color. This piece is hot.

I love art. It means so much to me. I can't even describe everything it means to me because I almost feel like art just speaks to me. I look at an art piece and I feel like I can have a conversation with the piece. For my whole life I've loved art, I grew up in a really creative family, my grandfather and mother are truly brilliant artists, but of course they'll never admit it.
My grandfather goes through stages of what he works with, for a while it was painting (he painted a portrait of me from a photograph from when I was six), and now he's totally obsessed working with stain glass. He created these two gorgeous pieces for two of my cousins that are now hanging up in their rooms, one is their dog and the other is the pony. My mother also has a talent for painting, being able to draw and sketch, and photography (ah! that must be where I got my love of photography from). My love for art is the reason I want to study art history. I originally wanted to go to art school and double major in creative writing and photography; however, plans changed and photography wasn't an option where I did end up but art history was and it stuck. I find something fascinating about how you can look at a piece and basically tell the the time and society it was created in; art and history are so interconnected making art an integral part of our society and culture.

Hugh Tree III by Brazen Edwards-Hager
Above, I really like the different hues changing within the outline of a tree and its ground.

The amazing thing about art is that it is everywhere, on the streets, on buildings, in books, galleries, museums, magazines, clothing, and the biggest place of them all the internet. Through various internet image sharing boards or galleries, such a Pinterest and tumblr, art can travel a very long distance. I have seen many different kinds of art through these websites, from vintage to photographs to something colorful and almost psychedelic such as the piece above. I think it is wonderful that there is this "art fan base" as you could call on said websites and people are willing to share these amazing pieces with the world.

Above, This is so brightening and refreshing but not in the offensive way. The contrast of the shades of pinks and blues work very well.

I love these pieces because they are all so colorful and expressive. I won't go into a full analysis because trust me that would go on forever on just a single piece! There seems to be this colorful trend going on with a lot of the art that I have reblogged from other blogs. It doesn't matter, they're beautiful.

Below, A yellow sky and orange water. What's not to like. The trees are still sort of green but the main thing I really like about this piece is it's use of color in a landscape.

Print- HEDGEHOG by DIMDImini ACEO. Too adorable! What's not to love about a cute little painted hedgehog!!?
bifanoland #3 in a series of 4 portraits based on “The Cube Game.”
Above, A little different from the rest but I love it. I mainly caught my eye with the horse in the middle but I do love how it's a profile with all these illustrations within the head. It's almost like it's showing that these are the things that make up the subject's life, kind of like that's what the subject is thinking about.

Above, besides the artist being Finnish I love the illustration. It caught my eye before I saw who the artist was. I love illustrations, the outlines, the details, the expressions.

Above, besides the amount of beautiful colors and mixtures of said colors, I really like the dabs of paint.

Above, is there anything not to love about this piece? The shading is really nice and the expression of the eyes is very clear. I like how the there are lines dripping down. Does anyone know the medium used? Would love to know!

Above, It almost looks like water colors but it's also reminiscent to me of some Japanese style art I have seen.  Would really like to to know any information on this piece.

Above, Besides the truly beautiful blend of colors here, I am really a fan of how everything blends together. It looks like marble. I would really like to find out how they created this piece!

Above, I have to be honest, I'm not even sure what it is about these two that makes me like them so much but I really really do. Maybe it's the use of an almost wallpaper way to create the background.  Go check out his flickr!

Signal Overdrive By Victor Calahan society 6
Above, Okay, can there be anything cooler than the above piece. I dare you to find me something. Color jut oozing out of his ear and nostrils, while the subject is wearing some pretty unique shades that has what looks like that image you get when a television station loses signal. And he's happy about it, he's smiling, or smirking. Something.

These are just a few of my most recent favorite pieces I have stumbled upon on tumblr. Thank you to all those who share all these amazing pieces of artwork. Spread art!

Everything in this post I have found through tumblr. Unfortunately, because of the nature of places such as tumblr and pinterest, many pictures that pass through quickly lose their original credit sources. I have tried to give proper credit where possible; however, if you see that something belongs to you or know the info of a piece, please contact me.

Good night,
Rebekka

P.S. I tried to get all the pictures the same size but of course they all have different ratios and such so it didn't work, but I made them as big as I could.
